Ian Van D. Chandler spent his adolescence in Denver, Co and recently received his MFA from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Today, he works at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and continues his artistic exploration out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ian, is a rambunctious scavenger, spontaneous builder, and messy painter. He is one of the two founding members of “A Painting Collective Called FRIENDS” - where he and his best friend, Josh, make DIY videos of their eclectic collaborative painting process. In his independent work, Ian sculpts found materials manifesting a haunted aura through his scarecrow-like objects. Through the many faces he draws and objects he creates he expresses a boyish angst, natural deterioration, and a lifelong passion for horror cinema.
